National LIFE Day: June 24
To celebrate the one-year anniversary of Roe’s reversal, we gathered together outside the largest Planned Parenthood in the Western Hemisphere (right here in Houston) to sing praises to the Lord who has blessed us with one glorious year without Roe’s federal protection of abortion access.
The overturning of Roe v. Wade has been monumental in reigniting the pro-life movement!
No one thought it would be possible to take down Roe.
Even the most dedicated pro-lifers thought they wouldn’t see its end in their lifetime.
The Dobbs decision proved the world wrong. Progress in the abortion battle is possible.
While this decision is a huge win for life, it is not the end. Several states have expanded abortion access in the wake of Roe’s demise. Lies are being perpetuated throughout the media and from the highest political offices in our country.
We must stand up to these lies with truth and love and create a culture that truly values and respects life. This can be done with very simple things like standing outside of Planned Parenthood in prayer, speaking up when someone is misinformed about abortion, volunteering or donating to local pregnancy centers, or supporting policies that protect the preborn and their mothers. Even something as simple as sidewalk chalk can be used to plant the first seeds of the pro-life message in someone’s head.
We cannot stay silent.
We cannot prioritize our comfort over the lives of the innocent and defenseless. Doing so has only enabled this culture of death to fester. At times, the world seems too far gone in the wrong direction to remain hopeful of any change. It is at these times that we must focus on the things in our lives that we can control and trust in God to handle the rest.
Our God has overcome far greater odds; He can handle this too.
Thanks be to God that Roe is no more!
